Lately there have been a maelstrom of tragedies in my vicinity.
Within the last month:
- An old friend of mine committed suicide.
- My Grandfather had a serious heart attack.
- My mom's co-worker's wife was seriously injured in a head-on collision, and 2 weeks later, (today) his dog got run over by a car and did not survive.
- While we were in the hospital with my Grandfather, a family friend was also there attending the premature death of his uncle (also a friend).
- A blogger friend of mine died suddenly in her sleep at the age of 31 from "complications due to diabetes" (4 days ago).
- An associate from the craft circuit passed away from cancer.
- An acquaintance in town was killed in a horrific traffic accident.
And in February, another friend in the craft world lost her house, everything in it, all of her pets, and her 11 year old son in a terrible fire.
If I had a dime for every time I have had to say "you'll be in my prayers" lately, I would be able to afford a ticket on Virgin Galactic's space shuttle.
What the hell is going on?

Gitting er Done
Today is a Tuesday. My Grandfather was released from the hospital yesterday, my Aunt and Grandmother are getting him settled back into his home. I was so exhausted from the last 5 days that I slept a total of 16 hours. I'm still exhausted. The sleep doesn't seem to have done anything to put a dent in my fatigue, and there is so much to do that I feel paralyzed.
I suppose the first course of action should be prioritizing my long list of things that need doing. In typical geek fashion I will be using a spreadsheet! That way I can write down at random all the tasks floating around in the chaos of my head, and then just drag them into an appropriate order. Lunch is going to be the first order of business, even though I have that feeling where I am starving but don't want to eat.
